Yellow Mangosteen

This slow-growing evergreen can grow up to 39 by 39 ft. Its yellow fruit is edible but can be quite sour. It can be eaten fresh or used in jams, curried, sherbets and vinegars. It is also a source of gamboge, which is a deep saffron-to-mustard yellow pigment used to dye Buddist monks' robes.
